Hays Education is recruiting for a Level 1 Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a specialist independent school in the Disley area of Cheshire East. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting vulnerable learners and looking to grow within a therapeutic and trauma-informed setting.
This school provides tailored education and therapeutic support to children and young people with complex needs. They offer:

Contract Type: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent (12-18 weeks)
Salary: Up to £125/day DOE
Start Date: ASAP
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils aged 7-18 with complex SEMH needs, autism, and associated learning difficulties
Assist in the classroom and during off-site activities, including outdoor learning and vocational sessions
Build trusting relationships with pupils and help them regulate behaviour and emotions
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and care staff to deliver holistic support
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children or young people in any capacity (education, care, youth work, etc.)
A genuine interest in SEMH and inclusive education
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to location and off-site activities)
An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
