Job Description – IT Support Engineer
Location: Manchester Campus
Contract Type: Full-time, On-site
Job Purpose
* To keep computer systems running smoothly and ensure users (students and staff) get the maximum benefit from them.
* To provide excellent technical support and guidance to both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
1. Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
2. Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks.
3. Provide technical support face-to-face, over the phone, and via remote desktop software.
4. Troubleshoot system and network problems; diagnose and resolve hardware or software faults.
5. Replace and repair parts as required.
6. Follow technical diagrams and written instructions to resolve issues or set up systems.
7. Support the roll-out and deployment of new applications.
8. Set up new user accounts, profiles, and resolve password issues.
9. Respond to IT support requests within agreed timeframes.
10. Work continuously on tasks until resolution (or escalate appropriately if required).
11. Prioritise and manage multiple open cases simultaneously.
