Job overview
We are currently seeking applications for various fixed term appointments for full or part time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapists.
1. month fixed term - full time
2. 8 month fixed term (maternity cover) - full or part time
3. 5 month fixed term (maternity cover) - full or part time
The role includes speech, language and communication assessment and intervention for children and young people who have an EHCP.
Main duties of the job
Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is currently looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Speech and Language Therapist to provide support for children and young people who have complex communication difficulties.
The post can either be full or part time and will involve working in schools and clinics with a caseload of children and young people who have a range of speech, language and communication needs and require intervention as part of their EHCP.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Qualifications & Professional Training
Essential criteria
27. Speech and Language Therapy degree or a recognised equivalent
28. Registered member of RCSLT
29. Registered member of HCPC
30. Evidence of having completed some short courses
Desirable criteria
31. Has undertaken additional study dysphagia training, language educators course
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
32. Can manage own caseload with minimal support
33. Has experience of working with complex cases alongside or with supervision from a highly specialist therapist
34. Knowledge of current trends in the management of communication and/or swallowing
35. Experience of work in a variety of settings
36. Awareness of Total Communication
