NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Advisor – Bicester
The NHS 111 Service is NHS England’s single point of access for telephone and online consultation services. You will be the first point of contact for patients seeking urgent care and will play a crucial role in assessing and triaging calls to ensure appropriate care pathways.
Responsibilities
* Call patients to clinically assess their symptoms and provide relevant advice and support.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including health advisors, nurses, paramedics, mental health practitioners, pharmacists and other NHS staff, to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions in the NHS system.
* Remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively over the telephone.
* Adhere to NHS Pathways and clinical governance guidelines.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Registered General Nurse (RN1, RNA), Specialist Practitioner or Paramedic.
* Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Minimum 3 years of post‑registration experience.
* Recent professional clinical experience.
* Experience of triage/call‑centre work.
* Computer literacy.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure and communicate effectively.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
* Motivation for further professional development.
* Understanding of clinical governance and audit practices.
* Flexible working approach.
* Teaching or assessing qualification.
* Supervisory or mentoring experience in a call‑centre environment.
* Previous experience working for NHS Direct or similar services.
Training and Support
* Full 9‑week paid training programme.
* Dedicated in‑house education team and continuous professional development.

Contract and Working Pattern
Full‑time or part‑time, permanent contract. Minimum 24 hours per week, paid, with flexible shift patterns that may include evenings, weekends and 6‑ to 8‑hour shifts.
