Description ABOUT THE POST Are you passionate about supporting the development of well-connected communities? Do you have experience of doing engaged and participatory research with local organisations and residents from a diverse range of backgrounds? Are you committed to having an impact on policy and practice through your research? If so, this could be the ideal role for you. We are seeking to recruit a Research Fellow for the ESRC- funded Centre for Collaboration in Community Connectedness (C4) to work with Professor Louise Ryan and alongside our Community Catapult Partner (The Brixton Project in Lambeth) as an embedded researcher, leading and taking forward an ambitious programme of qualitative community research and engagement based on the principles of co-production. Key features of the role include: Leading on the co-design and co-delivery of innovative new research projects on a broad range of topics associated with community connectedness; Building the qualitative and quantitative research skills and capacity of community organisations and residents to enable them to play an active role in the C4 research programme; Supporting residents and community organisations to participate in and engage with all aspects of the research process; Working collaboratively with researchers and partners across C4, including in the other Community Catapult neighbourhoods; The production of various types of research outputs - such as reports, blogs, infographics, visual summaries, short films - to meet the evidence needs of a diverse range of stakeholders (community, public sector, academic). This is a fixed-term role for a 4 year (48 month) period. The Centre for Collaboration in Community Connectedness (C4) is a £10 million initiative, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, and led by the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR) at Sheffield Hallam University, in collaboration with regional and national partners - Clackmannanshire Third Sector Interface, Darnall Wellbeing, Local Trust, London Metropolitan University, Queen’s University Belfast, The Brixton Project, University of Stirling, and The Young Foundation. C4’s research will focus on key areas including: Community: where people live and their connections with their neighbours; Relationships: identifying which social interactions are most meaningful in tackling poverty, isolation and mental health; Social Capital: looking at the benefits derived from networks and relationships.
