Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planning and Purchasing Administrator to support our manufacturing operations. This role is key in ensuring the smooth flow of materials and the efficient scheduling of production activities to meet customer demand, maintain stock levels, and reduce downtime. You will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and internal departments to maintain an accurate production plan and timely procurement of materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
1. Assist in the development and maintenance of production schedules based on sales orders, forecasts, and stock levels.
2. Monitor production capacity and lead times to ensure deadlines are met.
3. Liaise with the production team to ensure materials, labour, and equipment are scheduled appropriately.
Purchasing & Procurement:
4. Raise purchase orders for raw materials, components, and consumables.
5. Monitor stock levels and place orders in a timely manner to prevent shortages.
6. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
7. Track deliveries and follow up on delayed or missing items.
Administration & Reporting:
8. Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, production output, and stock.
9. Prepare reports on inventory levels, supplier performance, and production status.
10. Support other departments with administrative tasks as required.
Key Requirements:
11. Strong organisational and time management skills.
12. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
13. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
14. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
15. Competent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
16. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and inventory control is desirable.
