Currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant join an Ofsted “GOOD” Special School (ages 5 to 16 – Key Stages 1 to 4) in the South Norwood area, who specialise in supporting students with needs including Social/Emotional/Mental Health, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Difficulties, Autism and Associated Needs.
The position will involve providing support to students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, there will be a particular focus on Science classes with the successful candidate being responsible for assisting with supported learning & delivery of lessons throughout the week, this will be a full-time, long-term position starting immediately.
Daily Rate: Minimum £90 per day
Location: South Norwood (SE25)
Contract Type: Long Term
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: 5 days a week (full-time)
The successful applicants will have:
1. Previous experience working with Learning Difficulties and/or SEMH needs
2. Previous working experience supporting individuals with special needs
3. Previous experience managing challenging behavior
4. Ideally experience working with children and/or young people
The role will consist of:
5. Providing 1:1 support
6. Offering support to the class teacher
7. Deliver various sessions throughout the week (with a focus on Science)
8. Provide support for individuals and groups of pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
9. Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans
10. Building good student – teacher rapport
To be eligible for this role you must have an Enhanced Child or Child & Adult Workforce barred list DBS Certificate registered on the update service.
