The Project Manager will manage the planning and execution of strategically important projects within a complex, live operational environment. The role is responsible for the technical, commercial, and financial performance of a portfolio of projects, ensuring successful delivery aligned to project and wider business objectives. You’ll be responsible for: Directing and managing the project team across design, procurement, construction, delivery, and handover to achieve defined outcomes. Championing and embedding a culture of excellence in health, safety, and environmental performance across the project and its associated supply chain. Identifying and mitigating risks that may impact project delivery or disrupt operations throughout the project lifecycle. Delivering projects to agreed cost, schedule, and quality targets, ensuring a smooth and effective handover to operational and/or commercial teams, including readiness planning where required. Developing and managing high-performing teams, setting clear standards and providing coaching, mentoring, and direction. Ensuring full compliance with all legal, statutory, and regulatory requirements, including applicable standards and planning permissions. Managing and influence key internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes. Driving continuous improvement through lessons learned and best practice sharing across projects. You’ll need to have: Degree qualified (or equivalent) in programme management, architecture, engineering, construction, or a related discipline (civil engineering highly desirable) Professional project management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner) Demonstrable experience (typically 5 years) delivering large-scale or complex infrastructure/civil engineering projects, with values typically exceeding £10m. Proven ability to lead teams and manage external suppliers within complex delivery environments. Experience managing multiple, concurrent and interfacing projects is desirable. Experience delivering projects within live operational environments is advantageous.
