Mechanical Engineer | Building Services | Chichester
We are supporting a multi-disciplinary Design & Build consultancy in Chichester seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Building Services to deliver high-quality mechanical designs across commercial and industrial projects.
This role suits an intermediate to experienced Mechanical Engineer who can take responsibility for technical delivery, attend client meetings, and produce compliant, coordinated designs across all RIBA stages.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Produce mechanical building services designs including ventilation, heating, cooling, DHW, and public health
Carry out detailed calculations, heat loss/gain assessments and site surveys
Prepare specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
Attend design meetings and communicate key issues to clients and directors
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and specialists to deliver integrated solutions
Ensure projects meet technical, contractual, and programme requirements
Support junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
Mechanical engineering/ design experience in building services ( ideally consultancy or contractor)
Strong knowledge of UK building services standards and regulations
Proficient in IES, HEVACOMP, Open Buildings, TAS, or other relevant design tools
Experience delivering mechanical design on projects £1M£5M+
ONC/HNC in Mechanical Building Services + CIBSE membership (Preferred)
Able to obtain SC clearance
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
Full UK driving licence
