Homeless Support Officer (Nights)
Location: Rhyl - Crescent Court & Bruton Park
Salary: £27,020 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, working nights from 8.30pm to 8.30am on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.
About the Services
Crescent Court is a supported housing scheme in Rhyl that provides accommodation and support for people experiencing homelessness. The service focuses on helping residents build the skills, confidence and stability needed to move towards independent living and sustain a tenancy.
Bruton Park provides a safe and supportive environment for people experiencing homelessness, helping residents overcome barriers, develop independence and work towards securing their own long‑term accommodation.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Homeless Support Officer, you will work alongside residents to help them achieve positive outcomes and greater independence. You will:
* Build positive, trusting relationships with residents.
* Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
* Support residents to develop everyday life skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning and tenancy management.
* Encourage residents to engage with education, training, volunteering and employment opportunities.
* Help residents access welfare benefits, healthcare, mental health support and other specialist services.
* Promote social inclusion and community involvement.
* Maintain accurate records and support plans using digital systems.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for residents.
What We're Looking For
You don't necessarily need direct homelessness experience. What's most important is your ability to connect with people, demonstrate empathy and genuinely care about helping others succeed. We would love to hear from you if you have:
* Experience in housing, support work, social care, youth work or a related field, or transferable life experience.
* A genuine understanding of the challenges people experiencing homelessness may face.
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
* Resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
* Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems.
* A proactive and positive approach to problem‑solving.
* A commitment to treating everyone with dignity, respect and compassion.

Essential Requirements
* Youth & Community, Housing, Social Care qualification, relevant experience, or equivalent transferable skills.
* Ability to demonstrate empathy and understanding when supporting people experiencing homelessness.
* Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.
* Willingness to work nights, including alternate weekends.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check, which ClwydAlyn will pay for.
