Premier Foods is a FTSE 250 business with strong momentum and ambitious growth plans across the UK and internationally. We’re now looking for an exceptional Brand Director – Desserts to take full ownership of one of our most exciting and high-profile categories.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a truly end‑to‑end leadership role, with responsibility for long‑term strategy, in‑year delivery and full P&L ownership for a business worth £150m+ in retail sales value.
As Brand Director – Desserts, you’ll lead a portfolio of much‑loved household brands including Ambrosia, Angel Delight and Bird’s, operating in a category where Premier Foods is the number one market player.
You’ll set the strategic direction for the business, drive growth through innovation and commercial excellence, and lead a talented team of Brand Managers to deliver standout performance in market. Working cross‑functionally across Commercial, Finance, R&D and Insights, you’ll act as the general manager for the category, shaping its future and accelerating its transformation.
With a lean organisational structure, this role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the Executive team, making it an ideal next step for an ambitious marketing leader with aspirations for broader business leadership.
What you'll be doing?
1. Full accountability for P&L performance, market share and consumer health metrics across the Desserts portfolio
2. Defining and delivering the long‑term growth strategy, positioning Desserts as an accelerator category for Premier Foods
3. Leading best‑in‑class commercial and retailer plans, influencing ranging decisions and elevating in‑store execution
4. Building a strong pipeline of innovation “big bets” to drive sustainable, long‑term growth
5. Acting as the consumer expert for your categories, translating insight into winning strategies and ideas
6. Leading key business reviews, including monthly performance reviews, annual plans and long‑term strategy reviews with the Executive Team
7. Developing, coaching and inspiring a high‑performing team of Brand Managers
What we need from you?
8. 7+ years’ experience in a market‑leading FMCG organisation, with a strong track record of results
9. Broad, all‑round brand management expertise, including local market delivery and innovation/creative development
10. Strong commercial and analytical capability, with confidence building and presenting business cases
11. Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and deliver complex projects to market
12. A consumer‑first strategic thinker with a clear bias for action and personal accountability
13. An inspirational leader with the ability to coach, develop and get the best from others
14. An entrepreneurial mindset, always looking for smarter, better ways of doing things
