We are working with a leading Further Education college in the Cambridgeshire area to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated Lecturer in Plumbing to join their dynamic Construction department.
This is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver Plumbing courses to a diverse range of learners, both in practical workshops and classroom-based theoretical settings. The successful candidate will also support the ongoing development of the curriculum, provide tutorial guidance to students, and undertake essential administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment across a range of Plumbing programmes.
2. Ensure teaching and assessment meet awarding body standards and support student achievement.
3. Develop and maintain teaching materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and digital resources.
4. Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
5. Participate in internal moderation, assessment, and verification processes.
6. Provide tutorial support, monitor student progress, and maintain effective communication with learners, parents/guardians, and employers.
7. Maintain strong industry links and engage in ongoing professional development within the Plumbing and Construction sector.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
8. Relevant industry experience in the Plumbing and Construction sector.
9. Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Plumbing.
10. Ability to inspire and motivate learners of all ages and abilities.
11. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
12. Commitment to supporting student progress and achievement.
13. Willingness to undertake ongoing professional development.
Desirable
14. Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
15. Experience in assessing and verifying vocational qualifications.
16. Ability to integrate core skills such as Maths and English into vocational teaching.
