Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to announce the introduction of this new role aimed at doctors who are passionate about their practice and their career outside traditional models. Our post will combine education and career development with practical patient-facing care. Main Duties
From a clinical perspective these posts will participate in the cross site senior trainee rota. The senior trainee rota is compliant with the 2016 resident doctor contract averaging 48 hours per week. The illustrative rota pattern is attached to this job description. Duties will be based primarily on our Pinderfields Hospital and Dewsbury Hospital sites although all our medical staff are involved in delivering care to patients on all our sites.
The Main Duties Of The Post Will Include
* Provision of care with responsibility for the management of patients with acute and chronic conditions including complex cases.
* Referral of patients to other specialities as appropriate.
* Out-patient activities/clinics.
* Involvement in specialty and cross-specialty multi-disciplinary teams and meetings.
* Involvement in relevant administration duties.
* Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and other clinicians as appropriate.
* Active involvement in audit and clinical governance including service improvement activities.

Essential Person Specification Requirements
* Full GMC Registration with licence to practise.
* Medical Degree from recognised medical school.
* Experience in acute and elective General Surgery at CT2 or equivalent level for at least 12 months with recent experience in the NHS.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Demonstrates intelligent and analytical approach to problem solving.
* Possesses good communication skills.
