We are currently recruiting for experienced and highly motivated Engine Bay Dismantlers to operate safely within our engine bay workshop, to dismantle and remove parts from all types of engines, for sale to both trade and retail customers Green Parts Specialists Ltd (GPS Ltd) are the UK's leading ISO Accredited Vehicle Recycling Company, responsible for facilitating the collection, dismantling and recycling of motor vehicles, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality market leading service to our customer/supplier population, located at our office in Skelmersdale, Lancashire. The Engine Bay Dismantler is responsible for safely and efficiently removing, disassembling, and organising engine components from vehicles, for resale The role involves cataloging, cleaning, and preparing parts for reuse, recycling, typically working in engine bay workshop, this position plays a key role in reducing waste and promoting sustainable use of vehicle parts. Key Responsibilities: Dismantling Engines: Processing engines and gearboxes ensuring they are ready for resale. Quality Control: Inspect engine components for wear, damage, and quality, identifying parts that may be reused. Inventorying Mechanical Components: Carefully remove and organise engine components, ensuring that all parts are separated and documented with our in-house system. Tool Use: Utilise specialised tools and equipment to safely and efficiently remove parts from the engine bay without damaging them or other vehicle components. Recycling and Disposal: Sort recyclable materials and manage the disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of dismantled parts, including serial numbers, conditions, and storage locations. Collaboration: Work with other team members, including mechanics, technicians, and supervisors, to ensure the dismantling process is efficient and meets quality standards. Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe working procedures for handling tools and materials. What we need from you: Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive or machinery components, including engines, transmissions, and more. Tool Proficiency: Experience using hand tools, power tools, and machinery for disassembling engine parts. Attention to Detail: Ability to inspect and identify parts that are reusable and recyclable. Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting and finding solutions to challenges during the dismantling process. Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively. Safety Awareness: Strong knowledge of workplace safety procedures, especially related to engine disassembly and handling hazardous materials. Desirable but not essential: - Previous industry or mechanical knowledge is preferred. Basic IT knowledge. FLT License desirable but on-site training given. Flexible attitude towards working.
