Senior Occupational Therapist - £3000 WELCOME BONUS SUBJECT TO T & C'S
£36,658 to £41,669 Preston, PR2 9BN
About Us: At Brain kind Neurological Care Centre Lancashire (NCCL), we offer a dual service, providing a therapy-led level 2 specialist neurorehabilitation service and neurological care to residents with various neurological conditions. We provide a holistic environment with a wide staff skill set to optimize clients' health and wellbeing, maximize independence, and support emotional and social needs. In November 2023, we transitioned from Sue Ryder Neurological Care Centre Lancashire to Brain kind, formerly The Disabilities Trust, offering significant opportunities for personal and professional development, including research and service development. We foster interdisciplinary collaboration with registered nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists, and more, including unique offerings like Neuro Music Therapy and onsite activities. Our new building supports group work and explores emerging technologies like VR.
About the Role: The Senior Occupational Therapist will work within our neurorehabilitation unit, conducting holistic assessments and treatments, setting SMART goals, and supporting discharge planning. Responsibilities include community engagement, home visits, detailed record-keeping, applying evidence-based practices, managing complex conversations, conflict resolution, and collaborating with the MDT. You will perform comprehensive assessments, develop individualized plans, utilize advanced clinical skills, and stay updated with emerging technologies.
About you: You should hold a degree in Occupational Therapy, be registered with the HCPC, have relevant CPD, substantial rehabilitation experience, neurological expertise, and experience at band 6 or above. You must work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage risks confidently.
Rewards: Benefits include 35 days’ holiday including bank holidays, a £3000 WELCOME BONUS, enhanced maternity pay, pension contributions, Blue Light Card discounts, Perkbox, EAP, eye vouchers, staff awards, free uniform, and parking.
To join our team, click the Apply Now button or contact the centre or Lead OT directly at 01772 925055 (Ashlie Hoyle / Kate Barlow). We shortlist and interview on a rolling basis, so apply promptly. Successful candidates will undergo checks including references and DBS/PVG. We are a Disability Confident Employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
