You will plan and organise the work of the respective teams including the allocation of human and physical resources within allocated budget parameters, ensuring efficient usage. Dealing with timesheets, identifying the need for agency and covering staff, managing holiday requests, administering sickness and absence processes. Collect in all operational task sheets and associated paperwork at the end of the day etc.
About the role
In this role you will supervise service teams ensuring the development of cost effective and customer focused operational teams engaged in the daily delivery of environment operations within their service area (Refuse, Recycling, Green). Ensuring that all services are delivered in accordance with the Council’s values, beliefs, priorities, policies, procedures and objectives. Ensuring that operations are carried out in a safe manner with regard to health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance and environmental standards.
About you
* Detailed knowledge of Waste collections, health and safety, environmental and transport legislation and operational practice.
* Thorough knowledge of internal HR and H&S policies and procedures.
* Ability to manage frontline workforce when necessary and relevant supervision with people skills experience.
* The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
* Flexible approach to work and willingness and ability to travel throughout the Borough.
* HGV class 2 vocational licence (Desirable).
