Scope of RoleAvondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses such as Marks & Spencer, and Morrisons and Waitrose in the UK.The Engineering/Maintenance Department provides a Reactive Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Worklist, Site Services Management and Project delivery resource to the business.This role contributes to the management and purchasing of engineering stock items.Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing engineering parts/spares within an agreed budget and timeframe.Sourcing components and implementing cost savings.Monitoring and controlling stock levels.Maintaining stores to the agreed standards and managing the changeover from current Kanban stock system to a new D365 system.Assist in identifying critical spares and arranging stock controlsPreparing PPM kits.Collection of parts from external sources.Off-loading deliveries using a forklift.Adhering to customers codes of practice.Assisting engineers when necessary.Contribute to the development of a culture of Integrity, collaboration do the right thing approach in all interactions.Ensure Food Safety compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements to remain audit-ready at all times.Essential CriteriaEducated to at least GCSE standard (or equivalent) including English & MathsFamiliarity with D365 or other stock control, stores or inventory systems.Experience in purchasing engineering parts, consumables or maintenance sparesCompetent IT skills including ExcelAbility to use initiative to work on own or as part of a team to achieve results.Experience working within budgets and achieving cost savings.Understanding of health & safety procedures in an industrial settingStrong attention to detail with a proactive and problem-solving mindsetExcellent communication skillsFamiliarity with KANBAN systems or other stock control systemsForklift licenceFull UK Driving licenceDesirable CriteriaStrong organisational and time management skillsKnowledge of engineering componentsGood negotiation and supplier management skills.Experience in a food manufacturing environment.Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, suppliers, and operations teams.Accurate record-keeping and stock reporting skillsKnowledge of food safety and hygiene standardsExperience generating reports and analysing stock trends/KPIsSkills:Attention to detail Purchasing EngineeringBenefits:Pension Medical Aid / Health Care Subsidised canteenWHJS1_NI
