Position: Construction Project Manager – (Contract)

Start Date: October 2025
Contract Duration: Until April 2026 possible to extension
Day Rate: ~£400/day CIS
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a £12m school project at School, Yeovil. This is a key role managing a live education site, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in school construction projects, strong leadership skills, and the ability to engage with stakeholders including local authorities, school representatives, and the client team.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end delivery of a £12m school construction project.
* Oversee the programme, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Manage subcontractors and supply chain partners, driving performance and accountability.
* Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication at all stages.
* Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly in a live school environment.
* Manage risk, resolve construction challenges, and support effective decision-making.
* Provide progress reports and updates to senior management and the client team.
Candidate Profile
* Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager on education/school construction projects (essential).
* Strong background managing projects in the £5m–£20m value range.
* Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience delivering in sensitive environments such as schools.
* Proven ability to manage subcontractors, budgets, and project programmes.
* Good knowledge of M&E coordination, RC Frame/Steel structures, and traditional builds.
Qualifications & Requirements
* SMSTS (essential).
* IOSH (essential).
* CSCS
* First Aid at Work (desirable).
* Strong IT skills (Power project, MS Office).
