Specialist Addiction Practitioner

Leeds and York Partnership NHS Trust has a national and international reputation in Addiction and Co-Occurring Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder (COMHAD) treatment. The COMHAD team, as part of LYPFT, works alongside other partners that make up Forward Leeds, a CQC outstanding-rated organization.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Specialist COMHAD Practitioner to join the multidisciplinary team. The team includes a Consultant Psychiatrist, Consultant Psychologist, Mental Health Nurses, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Specialist Health Visitor, and a Specialist Midwife.
The role involves providing specialist addiction treatment, including psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, harm reduction, and risk management to service users with co-existing mental health and/or pregnancy needs. The LYPFT team is trauma-informed and offers a formulation-driven, psychological model.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will manage a caseload and deliver psychosocial interventions to support the wider service. They will receive excellent training, supervision, and support from an experienced team based in a clinical centre of excellence.
There are opportunities for specialist training such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and career development. The candidate will also have opportunities to facilitate psychosocial group work and contribute to service development.
The role includes providing specialist addiction treatment, including psychosocial and pharmacological interventions, harm reduction, and risk management to service users with co-existing mental health and/or pregnancy needs. The team is trauma-informed and offers a formulation-driven, psychological approach.
