Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations leader to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business. The role would suit someone with a background in electro-mechanical or high-tech manufacturing, confident in managing cross-functional teams and driving improvements across production, supply chain, and quality.
The position is primarily site-based, with responsibility for overseeing day-to-day operations while also driving continuous improvement and long-term strategic goals. You’ll work closely with department managers to ensure efficiency, safety, and high-quality delivery of products and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate activities across production, supply chain, and quality.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products, from machining to assembly and testing.
* Own and deliver operational KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting and actionable insights.
* Drive stock and inventory management strategies to support efficient production and cost control.
* Support quality initiatives and ensure systems, documentation, and processes align with industry standards.
* Oversee the transition of new products from development into manufacturing.
* Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, quality, and safety.
* Manage facilities and site maintenance to ensure a safe and effective working environment.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The Candidate
Proven experience in an operations role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, electronic & mechanical assembly, and product testing.
Collaborative leadership style with a track record of managing cross-functional teams.
Hands-on experience with ISO9001 or similar quality systems.
Strong background in operational KPIs, lean initiatives, and process improvement.
Experience with ERP systems and stock/materials management.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
HND or degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
