We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to join our team in Lewes. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring that all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment. The nursery is seeking someone with proven leadership experience to ensure staff have the necessary skills and training to provide a nurturing experience for children. The role is supported by an administrator, allowing more time for you to focus on the daily operations of the setting. The nursery operates from 8am to 6pm, with outdoor classrooms, playgrounds, green spaces, and a forest school nearby. It has good transport links to Brighton and Hove, is a short walk from the train station, and offers on-site parking.
Upon starting, you will undergo a three-month induction with the current Manager to ensure full training and onboarding before assuming the role independently. The package includes market-leading pay and loan facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the daily operations of the nursery, including staffing, budgeting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective nursery operations.
* Ensure all children receive high-quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment.
* Build strong relationships with parents and stakeholders to meet the needs of the local community.
* Lead and motivate the nursery staff to achieve outstanding results.
* Extend Forest School spaces within the nursery.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the early years sector.
* A relevant childcare qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership and management experience.
* A passion for providing high-quality care and education to young children.
* Forest School qualifications are desirable but not essential.
