Electrical Design Engineer - Building Services Consultancy Location: Chesham, Buckinghamshire (Hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home) Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 benefits (DOE) Hours: 8:00-4:30 or 9:00-5:00 The Company I'm recruiting for a growing M&E Design Consultancy based in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. The Role This consultancy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen their design team. You'll work alongside two senior engineers, contributing to the design and delivery of building services projects. This is a hybrid position (3 days in office / 2 from home), offering both collaboration and flexibility. You'll be exposed to the full project lifecycle, from survey and feasibility reports, through design and BIM, to final project delivery. With direct involvement in healthcare, residential, and education schemes, this role offers excellent technical variety and career growth. Responsibilities Produce electrical building services designs, drawings, and specifications. Carry out project appraisal, organisation, and scheme checks for Building Regulations compliance. Prepare feasibility reports and surveys. Develop BIM and Soft Landing requirements as part of project delivery. Liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure successful coordination. Work on a wide range of building services systems including: HVAC, combustion, and water services Building automation & energy management systems Power generation (including CHP) Fire protection/detection and alarm systems Lighting, power, IT, and structured cabling systems Candidate Profile Experience as an Electrical Design Engineer within a consultancy or contractor environment. Strong knowledge of electrical building services systems and design software (Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD). Exposure to healthcare, residential, or education projects beneficial. Familiarity with BS7671 and other industry standards. Strong communication and organisational skills. UK right to work (no sponsorship available).
