New Directions Education are recruiting on behalf of a friendly primary school in Wallasey who are looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their F1 / Pre-School class. This is a mornings-only role running from November 2025 until January 2026.
Role responsibilities:
1. Support the class teacher with daily routines and learning activities
2. Help children develop key early years skills through play and structured learning
3. Assist with personal care and ensure a safe, nurturing environment
4. Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
What we’re looking for:
5. A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
6. Experience working within EYFS or Pre-School settings
7. A kind, patient and proactive approach
8. Passion for helping young children develop and thrive

Job Specification
Teaching, Learning or Classroom Assistants are now vital resources for teachers and are heavily relied upon in schools.
We specialise in recruiting Teaching Assistants (TA) who are qualified in the following;
9. NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant
10. NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant
11. Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
12. CACHE Level 3 in Childcare & Education
13. BTEC National Certificate in Childhood Studies (Nursery Nursing).
We’ll also consider experienced Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) who have previously held a job in a primary school or assisted a pupil in the role in a secondary school but do not hold any of the above qualifications.

As a teaching assistant you’ll be expected to:
23. Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher, ALNCO and class teachers
24. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for students and help monitor their progress
25. Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
26. Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
27. Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills.
