Job description
This is a vital role for a student who is currently unable to access mainstream education. The tutor will deliver personalised academic support in a nurturing, low-pressure environment – with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, emotional regulation, and developing confidence and trust.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver 1:1 tutoring sessions for up to 12 hours per week (ideally over 4 days).
2. Tailor learning activities to suit the student’s interests, needs, and EHCP targets.
3. Support emotional well-being, using trauma-informed and student-centred approaches.
4. Liaise with parents/carers and other professionals as needed to support progress.
5. Create a calm, engaging, and safe learning environment – either at home or in the community.
Essential Requirements:
6. Experience working with children or young people with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, and/or EBSNA.
7. A calm, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching and behaviour support.
8. Strong understanding of SEND and safeguarding.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
