GRS is a well-known and respected brand name and provider of remediation systems,supplying process plant for the in-situ remediation of contaminated land/groundwaterand the treatment of liquids and gases. It is part of RemedX Ltd, a member of RSK Group.
We now have a unique opportunity for an experienced Project Manager/Engineer to join the team to takeoverall responsibility for the smooth running of the projects. The ideal candidate will be able todemonstrate several years experience in project management within the chemical, process or environmentalindustry.
The key requirement of the role will be to provide a practical hands-on approach tosuccessfully plan and organise small to medium sized projects, from initial concept through to finalcompletion. It is expected that the appointed candidate will develop into a more senior managementposition within the company (Operations Manager) within a short time scale.
The successfulcandidate will have a high profile role within the organisation and should have the capability tolead a small team of committed site staff including subcontractors.
Key responsibilities will include:
organising and managing the various projects that the company secures
specifying and purchasing equipment
keeping accurate control of costs
preparation of necessary contract documentation such as method statements, risk assessments etc
installation and commissioning of the equipment
The role will involve hands on site work, working away from home on a regular basis andtravel throughout the UK with occasional overseas trips, thus a full UK driving licence is essential.
Qualifications
Knowledge of remediation technologies would be advantageous, but it is more important thecandidate has a broad based mechanical, electrical, process background and has experience ofinstalling equipment which involves the handling of fluids and air phase streams. Some knowledge ofvacuum systems and water treatment would also be advantageous.
Person Specification:
Qualified to HND or degree level in an engineering or science based subject
Experience in the water treatment industry, process industries or environmental engineeringsector involving electromechanical systems would be of significant advantage
Working knowledge of pressure vessels, vacuum systems, air strippers/ scrubbers or similarmultiphase operations would also be advantageous
Strong organisational skills and able to communicate with project teams, clients, regulators, etc
The ability to represent GRS commercially and technically at pre-sales meetings and subsequently at site meetings
The capability to clearly communicate with both clients personnel and in house staff at all levels is essential
Strong track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget
