Position: Transport Planner Salary: £29K-£31K DOE Location: Widnes Suttons International are a long standing and successful global logistics provider. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our fantastic team based in Widnes The Role This hybrid role is responsible for creating a national transport plan to meet Customers requirements and execute within parameters. Transport Planners will optimise available resources with regards to service, productivity and cost to ensure Customers receive a first-class service in a cost-effective way. You will also adhere to all safety compliance requirements and deliver efficiently against KPIs. The role is organised across a rolling working pattern for the 3 incumbents (Monday to Friday): Week one - 06.00 to 14.00 Week two - 09.00 to 17.00 Week three - 11.00 to 19.00 Out of Hours cover weekend roster is utilized within the team to provide essential cover for International Operations within UK Saturday / Sunday / Public holidays Key Accountabilities Responsible for the day-to-day planning requirements of the business by effectively challenging the way in which the business plans in order to highlight and suggest areas for improvement whenever they arise Proactive shift management. Ability to respond quickly to changing operational needs by making effective decisions based on the information available, translated into effective planning. Understand the driver capability and pair with available resources to meet planning requirements First point of call for drivers to ensure they understand their planned work and resolve any day-to-day issues Providing solutions to customer queries and complaints, also demonstrating the anticipated level of customer service Reacting to changes in customer demands to meet their needs Work with compliance team to ensure vehicles are planned appropriately to meet maintenance schedules Working accurately and effectively with data from multiple systems including vendor managed inventory (VMI) telematics, customer demand forecast Order entry - single loads, multiple loads, block orders Skill and Experience Experience of working in a comparable planning role Proven ability to plan multi-site operations Driver Management Experience Analytical with ability to translate customer-facing reports/ internal reporting Understanding of UK and EU driving regulations legislation Experience of systems such as Manpack, Mandata, Microlise is desirable Ideally, Health & Safety management qualification- IOSH / NEBOSH Effective communications and report writing Negotiation/ influencing skills Benefits Flexible hybrid working.
