Job Opportunity: Band 7 Clinical Research Nurse
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Clinical Research Nurse within Academic Radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, Sutton. The post involves working in the Bob Champion Unit as part of a multidisciplinary team pioneering urology cancer treatment. Responsibilities include managing patient caseloads, running nurse-led clinics, and supporting research activities.
Ideal candidates will have previous clinical research experience in urology, preferably with a degree, and will adhere to GCP guidelines to ensure high standards of practice.
The role requires flexibility, teamwork, independence, and excellent communication, administrative, and IT skills. Supportive and open to new initiatives candidates are especially valued.

Main Duties
1. Organize and manage clinical trials, maintaining accurate project status records and updating the department.
2. Assist with trial organization and liaise with multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care.
3. Register and review research projects with the Trust’s R&D and REC, reporting updates and amendments.
4. Liaise with pharmaceutical sponsors regarding trial feasibility and implementation.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated practitioner, capable of motivating others. The portfolio includes sponsored, non-sponsored, and translational studies, requiring a dedicated team with diverse expertise to ensure high-quality data and patient care.

Person Specification
Education/Qualifications
* Post-registration oncology qualification or equivalent
* Basic computer literacy
* Research methods education
* CPD evidence
* Competence in research software (Access, Excel, SPSS)
Experience
* Senior staff nurse or above in clinical research
* Oncology nursing experience
* Experience in relevant specialties (e.g., haematology, gynaecology)
* Leadership and coordination experience
* Experience with HRA submissions
