You can take our undergraduate route or start out via our CITB or local college 2-4 year HNC and SVQ path. \n\nWe can fully support you from the beginning and youâll be starting out in a 4-year undergraduate programme or if you have already commenced surveying studies and have achieved HNC/HND level; we can support your application to get you started a bit further on in your learning journey at 2nd or 3rd year at undergraduate level! The undergraduate programme/Graduate Apprenticeship route this year would be supported by Glasgow Caledonian University. \n\nAlternatively, we can look to start your journey at the HNC and SVQ level and progress to the graduate apprenticeship route upon completion in support with CITB.\n\nNot only will be support you to obtain a professional qualification, but you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn!\n\nA day as a Trainee QS can look like:\nâ¢\tApplying best practice to our commercial processes to help maximise returns in terms of profit.\nâ¢\tUsing your keen eye to identify and drive out any redundant costs \nâ¢\tSupporting with the preparation and closure on monthly invoices looking at variations, claims, and any disputes.\nâ¢\tLearning how to conduct project financial forecasts\nâ¢\tBecoming the go-to-person for our and wider contractual, commercial, regulatory procedures\n What we need from you. \n\nYouâll need a minimum four Scottish Highers qualifications or equivalent which should include English and Maths along with National 5 qualifications (Intermediate 2) at Level 3 or equivalent to enter in Year 1 and/or 96 UCAS tariff points. Foundation Apprenticeship achievements will be the equivalent of one Scottish Higher. \n\nFor those with a Modern Apprentice at SCQF Level 6, this would be the equivalent of two Scottish Highers.\n\nIf you have a college HNC B awarded in a graded unit in a relevant subject area, we can support your entrance in Year 2!\n\nFor those further on in their studies and have a HND A or BB in a quantity surveying or equivalent subject area, we could look at your application for Year 3!\n\nStarting via our CITB or local college route means entry can include a different combination of relevant National Qualifications, vocational qualifications and equivalent qualifications and experience. We can help you choose the right path for you!\n\nIn addition to formal learning, you will be able to\nâ¢\tHelp us promote our thriving industry with your enthusiasm!\nâ¢\tEagerness to develop with an ability to travel to our sites where your on-the-job learning will be!\nâ¢\tBecome the key link between design and contractors on our projects, provide key commercial advice on costs and contracts.\n\nThereâs just a few more things you will need to join us:\nâ¢\tYou will need to be able to provide or obtain the right to work in the UK.\nâ¢\tYou will need to be able to drive and provide or obtain a full UK Driving Licence to travel across our projects, this is predominantly a site-based role to initially support \n our projects in the Edinburgh and/or Glasgow area and will also lead to wider business support for sites across East Dunbartonshire, Ayrshire, Stirling and more. \nâ¢\tHave a real passion for the industry and want to deliver exceptionally, the places where we live, learn, work, play, care and protect.\n
