Overview
Our client is a Facilities Services provider looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to be an essential business partner to the Finance Director in the Facilities Services business. The successful candidate will support the central Facilities Services functioning with the FM businesses across the UK on projects, planning and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Provide leadership to the Facilities Services Commercial / Financial team and ensure accurate financial information on a timely basis as required by the business.
* Champion proactive risk management within the Division and drive improvements in cash management.
* Develop and monitor business controls to highlight deviations from expected operational performance and work with the operations director to correct them.
* Ensure contracts are properly administered throughout their operation.
* Lead and develop commercial, financial and administrative staff within the division and be viewed as a partner to the operations Director.
* Develop the commercial and financial function across the division and contribute to the development of all staff within the division and wider community.
* Prepare and input data for monthly management accounts; review divisional management accounts for an accurate view of performance; ensure compliance with commercial and financial processes; ensure accurate forecasting and minuting of project forecasts each month.
* Cover: Order Intake, Invoicing, Production, Gross Margin, Overheads, EBIT, Cash Receipts and Balance Sheet items with emphasis on Customer Financing.
* Collaborate with the Operations Director pre-contract to drive the most cash-positive profile for projects; manage payment applications, invoices and early submissions where contract allows; drive cash collection toward advance payments where possible; act as the first point of escalation for the divisional commercial team on client certification and payment difficulties; inform the UK legal team of payment issues; manage contractual escalation and final account negotiations as required.
* Develop controls for monitoring project and contract performance; highlight deviations and support corrective actions with the MD to address underperformance.
* Monitor divisional overheads and cost base and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
* Work with the legal team to ensure staff are briefed on contract responsibilities and that contractual administration complies with contract requirements.
* Work with Procurement to ensure process compliance and engage with the supply chain as required.
* Lead analysis for Facilities Services as the finance lead on this category; provide judgment and challenge teams to improve P&L results; develop UK-level analytical tools to explain performance drivers and support the brand plan and agenda; support large-scale strategic projects including new business opportunities.

* MUST be CIMA qualified.
