About Us
Old Park is a community special school for children and young people aged 4-19 with a wide range of learning, sensory and health needs. Our pupils have needs including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Severe Learning Difficulties and Autism. All pupils attending Old Park School have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
Our most recent OFSTED report (May 2024) maintained an Outstanding overall judgement. The school is organized into four phases with class groupings by pupil need and a complex care team led by the School Nurse to support health and medical needs. The Role
Governors and Senior Leaders are looking to recruit a suitably qualified Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join the school team. This is a Fixed Term Contract ending 31st August 2026.
Qualifications
* An NVQ Level 3 equivalent or above in childcare/child development or education
* Literacy A-C or equivalent qualification in functional skills

* Hours: 32.5 hours per week, term time only, 39 weeks per year
* Salary: Grade 5 £20,899 - £22,678 (Actual)

Responsibilities
* Support children with learning, communication and interaction needs and assist with co-regulation where needed
* Act as part of a team to help raise standards and support teaching staff
* Promote the safety and well-being of all pupils and adhere to school policies

This role involves engaging in regulated activity and is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check. The school may perform online searches as part of due diligence checks before interview.
