Read Write Inc. is the UK’s number one phonics programme – teaching 10 million children to read over the last 20 years.

We are inviting exceptional Read Write Inc. teachers and leaders to apply to join the Ruth Miskin Training team. We value diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from candidates with diverse backgrounds.

We go above and beyond to make the biggest difference in every school by:

* working with children to model the best practice to teachers and tutors.

We provide new trainers with intensive, exceptional training followed by on-going professional development.

We offer opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities such as coaching colleagues and working with trusts and English Hubs.

Recruitment process

Complete the application with CV and cover letter

Email 5-minute film clip of you teaching a phonics lesson to a reception or Year 1 group to recruitment@ruthmiskin.com

Job Description

Responsibilities:

* Provide excellent training on Read Write Inc. programmes
* Provide rigorous on-going support for schools, to ensure all children learn to read

After eighteen months of coaching and support you will be able/expected to:

* Provide a high standard of training, keeping up with the latest online training and films.
* Make the best use of practice and coaching to improve your teaching, tutoring and school support during PPA time.
* Support schools on Development Days and during Remote Progress Meetings, using the School Portal, Online Assessment and latest documentation.
* Galvanise leaders and staff to focus on their slowest progress readers, challenging them to keep up all pupils from the very beginning.
* Keep leaders buoyant and help them find solutions to overcome organisational barriers.
* Prepare diligently before Development days and Remote Progress Meetings, using the school’s half-termly data to provide leaders with clear next steps.
* Respond clearly, quickly and professionally to all internal and external communication, including emails and remote meeting links.
* Show evidence that in your schools, 90%+ children meet the requirements of the Phonics Screening Check in Year 1 and 100% in Y2 – as a direct result of your actions.

Skills and qualities

* Have Qualified Teacher Status, full driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
* Be an outstanding literacy teacher
* Be able to engage and motivate teachers and leaders
* Communicate clearly - orally and in writing
* Work well in a team
* Be able to plan and prioritise work
* Be committed to personal and professional development
* A good working knowledge of Read Write Inc. programmes
* Experience of teaching the programme as a class teacher or Reading Leader.
