Job Description
3. Leads audit engagements for clients across various industries, managing the entire audit cycle
4. Plans and executes audit procedures according to firm methodology and regulatory requirements
5. Identifies financial reporting risks and evaluates internal control systems
6. Prepares and reviews audit working papers, ensuring documentation meets quality standards
7. Develops audit findings and recommendations for clients' management
8. Drafts detailed audit reports and presents results to clients
9. Supervises and mentors junior audit staff, delegating tasks and providing guidance
10. Reviews financial statements for compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP)
11. Prepares accounts for smaller clients when required, supplementing the primary audit focus
12. Maintains client relationships and identifies opportunities for additional services
13. Manages project timelines and budgets to ensure profitable engagement delivery
14. Stays current with accounting standards, audit regulations, and industry developments
15. Communicates effectively with clients to gather information and discuss complex accounting issues
16. Collaborates with tax and advisory specialists to provide comprehensive client solutions
17. Contributes to practice development through technical knowledge sharing and process improvement
The Successful Applicant
18. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with substantial external audit experience
19. Proven ability to lead full audit cycles independently from planning to completion
20. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP) and audit regulations
21. Experience supervising and developing junior audit staff
22. Excellent client relationship management skills
23. Ability to identify financial reporting risks and evaluate internal controls
24. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
25. Effective time management and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
26. Clear communication skills for presenting findings to clients
27. Experience in accounts preparation to support the secondary aspects of the role
28. Adaptable approach suited to a growing firm expanding into a new market
29. Knowledge of industry-specific audit requirements and reporting frameworks
