Graduate Development at GHD
The program is aimed at developing future leaders and technical specialists. During our two‑year global graduate development programme, our Graduate Engineers work with engineering teams developing skills across a wide variety of projects in Transport, Water, Energy, Industrial, Property and Buildings sectors both in the UK and overseas. Your contribution will make a positive lasting benefit to the environment and our communities.
While learning about the business, values, your team, and most importantly, yourself, you will develop decision‑making, communication, technical and leadership skills. We offer mentoring and a variety of development activities, providing on‑the‑job experience and exposure to a diverse range of projects, as well as support towards gaining chartered status within your engineering field.
About The Role
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Graduate Engineer to join our Energy Solutions team in Newcastle. We seek enthusiastic and motivated individuals who are engaged in or ready to work towards a professional qualification.
Core Responsibilities
* Deliver technical assignments, work elements, work packages and project engineering design activities under supervision
* Perform numerical analysis, research and prepare technical reports
* Use engineering software to support engineering design
* Support site visits and project team meetings as required
* Apply acquired skills and knowledge in a range of environments and across various project types
* Contribute to and deliver projects in a team environment
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Honours degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Work towards Chartered Engineer or near‑Chartered status in a relevant professional institution
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Application of engineering principles
* General understanding of conventional, renewable and evolving power generation technologies
* General understanding of energy conversion and energy storage techniques
