We are currently looking for a temporary part-time medical receptionist to join our friendly team. Hours of work will be as follows:
Monday - Friday 1.00pm - 5.30pm (22.5 hours per week)

As this role is temporary to cover maternity leave, we prefer candidates with General Practice/SystmOne experience.
Main duties of the job
Suitable candidates will have excellent administration skills, be organized, and possess excellent communication and telephone skills. The role requires flexibility to cover leave and to work as part of a team.
The main aspect of the role is to be the first point of contact for patients, secondary care, and outside agencies. You will need a positive attitude and will be required to provide admin support to our clinicians by processing tasks such as prescriptions and follow-up appointments while adhering to practice policies and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Bradford Student Health Service is a busy GP practice in Bradford with approximately 10,500 registered patients. We are a university practice located close to the University of Bradford.
Reception is an integral part of the practice and is the patients' first line of communication for all healthcare needs. We pride ourselves on confidentiality, trust, and respect, while ensuring professionalism at all times. Working as a team is essential in reception, alongside admin, clinical, and managerial staff.
Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the receptionist include, but are not limited to, the following. There may be occasions when other tasks are required, depending on workload and staffing:
1. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
2. Processing personal, telephone, and e-requests for appointments
3. Answering incoming calls, transferring calls, or dealing with requests appropriately
4. Signposting patients to the correct service
5. Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members, and external agencies
6. Readcoding data on SystmOne
7. Photocopying documentation as required
8. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information
9. Inputting data into patient healthcare records as necessary
10. Managing requests for information, such as SARs, insurance or solicitor letters, and DVLA forms
11. Handling queries efficiently
12. Carrying out system searches as requested
13. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and effective working area
14. Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
15. Supporting clinical staff with general tasks as requested
