About Our Client
Our client is a fast-growing children’s care provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care across various settings. They are expanding their children’s services by launching two new SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) residential homes in Smethwick. Each home will provide trauma-informed, intensive care for two young people with complex needs, creating personalised, stable, and nurturing environments.
The Opportunity
As the Dual Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the launch, leadership, and ongoing development of both homes. This includes:
* Leading the Ofsted registration process
* Recruiting and managing your own teams
* Establishing a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture from the ground up
Supported by our client’s strong leadership and resources, you will have significant autonomy and the opportunity to shape two outstanding homes that positively impact children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead Ofsted registration for both SEMH homes
* Recruit, train, and develop two high-performing care teams
* Deliver and embed trauma-informed, therapeutic care tailored to SEMH young people
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, regulatory standards, and children’s rights
* Provide consistent leadership, supporting staff development and retention
* Develop and implement care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
* Maintain Ofsted readiness and work toward Outstanding ratings
* Manage budgets, staffing, rota planning, and reporting requirements
* Collaborate with external agencies, local authorities, and families to provide holistic support
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Registered Manager in children’s residential care, or a Deputy Manager ready to step up
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare required or willingness to work towards it
* Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and residential care standards
* Experience supporting children with SEMH and complex emotional/behavioural needs
* Excellent team-building, mentoring, and leadership skills
* Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people
