The Pelican is a great destination pub located on the busy A36 road, about 15 mins drive outside of Salisbury. The pub has a massive beer garden with lots of tables to enjoy beers and food in the sunshine. There are also 4 hotel rooms situated in the garden area. The pub itself has a more relaxed bar area including darts board along with a dining area at the far end.
The pub has a varied customer base with tourists visiting the area often stopping for food, drinks or an overnight stay along with regulars from the Stapleford area coming for food and drinks.
The pub attracts tourists visiting the area with Salisbury Cathedral about 15 mins away. There are also locals of various ages in the surrounding villages who come to the pub for food and drinks. It is very evenly split between food and drink sales and tends to be more of a location for food than a traditional wet led pub.
There is ample parking with parking available at both ends of the pub. Sales at the pub have been growing in the last year so anyone taking it on will be able to build upon that.
We would ideally be looking for someone with prior food experience. They would need to be an experienced community operator and keen to drive sales and put on events in the beer garden and in the pub to maximise sales.
The accommodation is situated above the pub with 3 bedrooms along with another room which could be made into a fourth bedroom if needed. It has a private kitchen, bathroom and lounge.
The pub is currently turning over £7100 per week on a 45 (Wet)/40 (Dry) /15 (Rooms) split.
