The Role
Pret has over 700 shops in 19 countries and serves more than 500,000 customers every day worldwide. Headquartered in London, Pret also has international offices in the US, France, and Hong Kong.
This role reports to the Global Supply Chain and Procurement Director and is key in delivering procurement services to the business. The role oversees various category areas within Global Procurement, ensuring materials and services are procured efficiently to create value for Pret.
The focus will be on defining and implementing strategic procurement activities globally and driving procurement value. The role involves building effective supplier relationships and identifying opportunities for value creation, leveraging procurement best practices.
This position suits someone experienced in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management. It requires interacting daily with senior leaders worldwide, so excellent stakeholder management is essential. The role also involves cross-department collaboration and understanding stakeholder needs to develop efficient business strategies.
Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement and Category Management
* Develop and execute Pret’s global procurement strategy with the Global Supply Chain & Procurement Director, advocating for change and becoming a partner of choice.
* Define and implement indirect category strategies aligned with overall procurement and organizational goals.
* Identify and realize value creation opportunities through strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
* Ensure goods and services are sourced efficiently to maximize value.
* Manage complex negotiations, including commercial terms and conditions.
Stakeholder Management
* Build and maintain relationships with leaders across Pret.
* Manage multiple stakeholders across different geographies.
* Support the business in managing supplier contracts.
* Identify and mitigate risks related to suppliers and price volatility.
* Control procurement spend and promote a culture of long-term savings.
Technology and Governance
* Define, implement, and monitor procurement policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all functions in collaboration with Finance.
* Leverage business and commercial insights to influence strategic and operational plans, identifying risks and opportunities for digital enablement.
Skills and Experience
* Minimum 8 years in procurement, preferably within retail or QSR sectors.
* Experience in global and indirect procurement.
* Strong strategic planning, negotiation, and contract management skills.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and solve supply challenges.
* Proficiency in Excel.
* Passion, clear communication, teamwork, execution skills, adaptability, business acumen, and alignment with One Pret values.
