Site HSE Manager – Renewable Energy (HVDC Cabling)
Spencer Ogden is currently seeking an experienced Site HSE Manager to support a major renewable energy infrastructure project based in Peterhead, Scotland. This is a key on-site role focusing on Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) oversight during the installation of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) cabling systems.
Location: Peterhead Scotland (Full-time On-site)
Start Date: Available to start with 2 weeks’ notice
Rate: £550 - £585 per day (Outside IR35 – all inclusive: travel, accommodation, food)
Contract Type: Freelance / Contract Outside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies and procedures
* Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
* Deliver HSE training, inductions, and toolbox talks to site staff and subcontractors
* Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
* Monitor and report on HSE performance indicators and site compliance
* Stay current with UK HSE legislation, industry standards, and best practices in renewable energy
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Site HSE Manager or HSE Specialist in the renewable energy sector
* Direct involvement in HVDC cabling installation or high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects is highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations, CDM 2015, and ISO management systems (45001/14001)
* Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
* Able to work independently in a fast-paced site environment
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent HSE qualification strongly preferred
Contract Details:
* On-site role in Peterhead
* Outside IR35 contract
* £550 - £585 per day per day all-in (includes accommodation, travel, and meals)
