HIAB is currently looking for an experienced Workshop Service Engineer responsible for undertaking maintenance, servicing and repairs on our range of load handling equipment, including truck mounted forklifts (TMF), truck mounted cranes, forestry and recycling cranes as well as demountables and skip loaders.
The role reports to the Lead Service Engineer, and is located at our workshop near Northallerton / Leeming Bar.
Purpose of the position
1. Repair and service of all the machinery and equipment present in Hiab's crane and multilift product range, including third party equipment
2. Complete all service, repair, warranty and inspection jobs allocated daily, to a high quality standard
3. Build strong rapport and relationships with customers, through professional behaviour and a customer focused mindset
4. Respond to routine enquiries from customers about the technical aspects of the organisation’s products and services
5. Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve standard technical problems that arise, ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
6. Develop skills and knowledge of the organisation’s products and services
7. Comply with all Legal and company standards, such as code of conduct and H&S practices.
What you’ll need to succeed
The suitable candidate should have demonstrable technical experience in a similar role and possess the necessary experience of working with the relevant mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. You will need to be highly motivated and with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ideally you will have:
8. A recognised engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
9. Existing knowledge of some or all of the following plant: loader cranes, truck mounted forklifts, forestry cranes, demountables and skip loaders
10. Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills
11. Flexibility with regards to tasks performed, and working hours
12. Computer literacy
13. Fluent English.
