Principal Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist (8b)
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join East Hertfordshire's Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). The role is a leadership position within the 8b post, working across two main sites – Welwyn Garden City and Hoddesdon – and delivering highly specialist child and adolescent psychotherapy in line with CAPA, i‑THRIVE and CYP‑IAPT principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and govern the Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy provision within the East Quadrant (Welwyn and Hoddesdon).
* Serve as Service Supervisor for trainees based in East Herts and contribute to the development of clinical practice and expertise through consultations and supervisions.
* Maintain a caseload of complex cases and provide specialist child and adolescent psychotherapy interventions.
* Mentor and supervise training child and adolescent psychotherapists, supporting their CPD with access to Service Supervisor training.
* Collaborate with the wider CAP community, participating in regular meetings to advance service delivery.
* Funding of Service Supervisor training offered by Tavistock and IPCAPA.
Qualifications
* ACP registration.
* High level of clinical expertise in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
* Familiarity with CAPA, i‑THRIVE and CYP‑IAPT frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
