We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our friendly and experienced specialist brain injury and neurological care service in Newmains, Wishaw.
We provide individualised assessment and intensive rehabilitation to help people recover from a brain injury. Our goal is to achieve the best possible outcomes in terms of independence and quality of life.
Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre provides specialist care for up to 46 residents at any one time.
Facilities include a minibus for appointments and outings, a state-of-the-art therapy pool, a specially designed therapy kitchen for skill learning, and a gymnasium to promote activity and socialisation.
We are proud to be accredited as an approved provider of specialist Brain Injury Care by the Headway Brain Injury Association.
What you'll be working:
Full-time hours
What you'll be doing:
* Supporting clients with daily activities
* Leading shifts by maintaining appropriate staffing levels
* Supporting care plans to establish routines
* Ensuring up-to-date risk assessments and person-centered plans are in place and reviewed
* Ensuring clients feel safe and stable in their daily care
* Providing personal care as required
* Covering all aspects of the support worker role on the floors
* Attending and completing mandatory training
* Administering medication if required
* Supporting service users with physical disabilities using trained techniques and aids
What you'll have:
* Strong organisational, time management, planning, and communication skills
* Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working
* Level 3 NVQ or QCF Diploma in Health & Social Care, or willingness to work towards
* Reliability in attendance and punctuality
* Ability to work as part of a team and independently
* Self-confidence and ability to manage challenging situations
* Driving license is preferable
* Ability to address employee issues fairly and consistently
* Successful candidates will undergo an Enhanced DBS check
