Physiotherapy Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Victoria Hospital / Orthopaedic Wards. Salary/Banding: Band 4.
Hours: Post 1: full time (36 hours), Post 2: 0.6 WTE (21.6 hours). Hours may be flexible.
Shift pattern: Frequent weekend working expected.
Job Overview
Assist in delivering physiotherapy to acute orthopaedic wards, primarily caring for patients post orthopaedic surgery including trauma and joint replacement.
Responsibilities
* Assist physiotherapist in assessment and treatment of hospital patients.
* Provide information and support regarding daily living aids and appliances.
* Work closely with occupational therapy colleagues.
* Collaborate with the team to support patient recovery and discharge planning.
Qualifications
* SVQ Level III in health sciences or equivalent.
* Evidence of clinical competence in assessment and treatment of patients.
* Understanding of inpatient orthopaedic conditions including fracture management and joint replacement.
* Knowledge of frailty and daily living aids helpful.
* Basic IT knowledge, including word processing.
* Teamworking skills and ability to adapt to change.
Additional Requirements
Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
