We are looking for an IT Support Engineer with experience supporting a user base of 50-100 people. This role will play a critical part in maintaining day‑to‑day IT operations, safeguarding systems, and continuously improving connectivity and automation across the technology stack. It is a stand‑alone role to provide support to a high‑performance team, suited for a London‑based ambitious engineer with around 5 years of commercial experience and a strong interest in AI/LLM’s, automation and cyber‑security.
The Role Is Structured As Follows
* 3 days per week focused on IT support, ensuring seamless operations for the team.
* 2 days per week focused on infrastructure, cybersecurity, automation, and system integration to drive efficiency and resilience.
The Role Is Built Around Three Core Pillars
IT Support Ensuring Productivity
* Provide hands‑on support to ensure all team members' laptops, accounts, and devices are operational and secure.
* Manage user onboarding, offboarding, and device provisioning in line with security best practices.
* Troubleshoot technical issues quickly and effectively, maintaining minimal disruption to business operations.
* Oversee patching, updates, and proactive maintenance across all endpoints.
Cybersecurity Keeping the Environment Safe
* Maintain and enforce strong security controls across Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and related systems.
* Monitor and respond to security alerts, applying best‑practice frameworks such as NIST where appropriate.
* Support incident response and recovery activities in collaboration with external partners.
* Regularly test and improve backup, access, and data protection processes.
Systems Integration & Automation Connecting the Dots
* Streamline the technology ecosystem by integrating systems and automating repetitive workflows.
* Build and maintain simple but effective scripts and automations using PowerShell, Microsoft tools, and modern AI‑enabled solutions.
* Evaluate and deploy technologies that enhance productivity and reduce manual overhead.
* Identify and deliver continuous improvements that make IT a competitive differentiator, not just a cost centre.
Core Responsibilities
* Administrative (Support & Administration): Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and related platforms; oversee device lifecycle management, including procurement, setup, and retirement; maintain inventory, licensing, and documentation for all IT assets; provide clear communication and training to users to maximise technology adoption.
* Security & Compliance: Ensure compliance with security policies and standards across devices, identities, and data; manage access control, MFA, and least‑privilege principles; support periodic security reviews and penetration tests; partner with our Head of Technology and vCISO to continuously enhance the security posture.
* Continuous Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to automate administrative tasks and improve system efficiency; explore the use of LLMs and AI tools to support scripting, monitoring, and troubleshooting; stay current with modern IT practices and emerging technologies relevant to small, agile teams.
