Senior Operations & Maintenance Engineer – Optimised Energy team
Role Summary
Hybrid working with an expectation of working three days from our Aberdeen office. You will be part of an entrepreneurial team within Wood, developing and delivering a cutting‑edge product across EMEA and the rest of Wood’s global footprint. Previous knowledge of AI is not required; we welcome candidates with experience in operations, maintenance or reliability engineering, as well as site or offshore personnel looking to transition to a flexible onshore position.
Responsibilities
* Provide Operations and/or Maintenance expertise for maintAI delivery projects.
* Support the maintAI development team to enhance and improve the product through better modelling or increased automation.
* Support the Senior Operations Manager & Delivery Lead to ensure project delivery timelines are met.
* Assist the Lead Engineer in consulting our clients through management of change processes.
Qualifications
* BSc, BEng, BTech – Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience in a high‑hazard Energy or Materials site).
* Experience in the operation and maintenance of oil & gas, petrochemical or manufacturing assets.
* Knowledge of reliability and maintenance processes such as Criticality Assessments, FMEA, and Reliability Centered Maintenance Studies.
* Understanding of asset management standards (e.g., ISO 14224, ISO 55001).
* Experience in maintenance data development and updates.
* Functional and technical knowledge of CMMS.
* Strong analytical skills – data analytics, database and spreadsheet manipulation.
* Knowledge of Agile processes.
* Awareness of local statutory or regulatory maintenance requirements and risk management programmes.
* Good oral, written and visual communication skills.
* Innovative, continuous improvement mindset.
* Good team working and networking skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
