About the role: The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and visibility of inventory records across the organisation. You will focus on safeguarding stock files, reconciling discrepancies, and driving a culture of accountability in relation to shrink, damages, and adjustments. The role partners closely with Merchandising, Profit Protection, and Finance to support commercial decision-making, improve inventory accuracy, and provide robust reporting. As our Inventory Control Manager you will be highly analytical and process-driven, ensuring that file amendments, write-offs, and adjustments are executed accurately and with full auditability. Based in Avonmouth on a hybrid working basis – 2/3 days per week Compensation – competitive salary, bonus scheme, pension, 4 x life assurance, healthcare cash plan, 26 days annual leave (plus the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days) What you will be doing: Safeguard stock file accuracy with transparent write-offs, write-ons, and audit trails Investigate and analyse discrepancies, shrink, and damages—spotting trends and driving real corrective actions. Lead regular stock audits and reconciliations in partnership with Merchandising and Profit Protection Manage and enhance ERP inventory modules through upgrades, testing, automation, and user training Own the stocktake calendar—plan and execute full and cycle counts, navigating resource constraints with practical solutions Design and deliver timely, robust inventory reports—build dashboards in Power BI and SQL for visibility and insight Serve as a trusted advisor to Merchandising, Profit Protection, and Finance—strengthening controls and aligning inventory accuracy with business needs Lead the Inventory Control team - set goals, inspire ownership, coach performance, and foster operational resilience through a culture of accountability and continuous improvement About you: Proven experience in inventory control, audit, or supply chain accuracy role Strong background in stock adjustments, reconciliations, and audit processes Demonstrated experience in ERP systems Skilled in reporting and analytics using Power BI and SQL Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify root causes and corrective actions.
