The Role
A great opportunity for a proactive and experienced professional to join our busy IT team, here at our Head Office in West Sussex
Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the corporate network and server infrastructure. Assisting with the support, management and administration of the business network and IT systems, you will be capable of effective problem resolution and associated software administration. The workflow is fast-paced and requires the ability to respond effectively to change, challenges and priorities.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
1. Support, maintain and proactively monitor the IT Infrastructure, including, servers, switches, backups firewalls and other network devices, both hardware and software based
2. Answer inbound calls from users on the IT support phone line
3. Maintain appropriate records of time, in the IT helpdesk, on all support and project work carried out
4. Perform server and security audits, and system backups and recovery
5. Design, develop and deploy LANs, WANs and wireless networks
6. Successful delivery of business projects and BAU administration, support and maintenance
7. Maintain the Microsoft Active Directory environment
8. Maintain and manage Barfoots voice and data lines and systems
9. Plan, manage and implement projects and upgrades to meet individual, team and company objectives
10. Identify opportunities for process and technology improvement
11. Ensure IT documentation and user guides are maintained to the highest quality and accuracy
12. Provide training to users of IT systems and applications
13. Support project delivery, upgrades and testing
14. Provide out of hours support for major incidents as part of an on-call rota (approx. 1 week in 7)
Requirements
Required Knowledge/Experience:
15. Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience working in a network / infrastructure support role
16. Proven and demonstrable experience in implementing and supporting IT infrastructure including servers, networks (switches), and security (firewalls)
17. General commercial and operational awareness of impact of business / user requirements
18. Excellent interpersonal, business management and customer-service skills
19. Excellent customer service skills, always striving to exceed expectations and to improve services to meet customer and business needs
20. Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical terminology to people with limited or no technical understanding
21. Ability to work to tight deadlines
22. Experience of planning and prioritising workload
23. Proactive and solutions driven
Extensive knowledge and proficient in the use of:
24. Server virtualisation, preferably VMware
25. Microsoft Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019
26. Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Management
27. Microsoft Exchange Server
28. Cisco switches including VLAN technology
29. Firewalls, preferably PALO
30. Network printing
31. Network monitoring software
32. Network cabling (including Cat5 termination)
Desired Skills, Experience and Knowledge
33. Understanding of ITIL Framework
34. Microsoft certifications and Cisco certifications - desirable but not essential
35. HP Server Hardware
36. Microsoft SfB server
37. Microsoft SharePoint
38. Cisco Wireless Lan Controller
39. Understanding or knowledge of ERP systems
40. Understanding of telephony systems
