Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Transcriptionist Team Leader to join St Helens Administrative Team. The post holder will provide comprehensive admin support to Consultants and Junior Medical Doctors in Community Mental Health Services.
About the Service
Our community mental health teams work with people with severe and enduring mental health issues as well as those with less severe illness who have not responded to provided interventions in primary care services. They offer flexible, responsive and proactive integrated services to individuals with severe and complex mental and behavioural disorders. The service offered to individuals will be provided in the most appropriate setting, primarily within the individual’s own home, and aims to enable individuals in crisis to achieve the highest level of functioning possible in the least restrictive setting; preventing unnecessary hospitalisation and facilitating more rapid discharge from an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
* Proficient in the use of audio-typing and word-processing packages; qualified to RSA Level 3 typing/word-processing or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology is essential along with possession of the AMSPAR certificate.
* Main duties include planning, organising, directing and co-ordinating the work of the identified service.
* Organise own workload and co-ordinate workload activities within the team.
* Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly telephone manner.
* Work to tight deadlines and manage the pressure of a busy department; work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
* Demonstrate flexibility and use initiative to contribute to the organisation, enabling the medical team to utilise their time efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain confidentiality at all times and adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications
* AMSpear certificate (AMSPAR) and knowledge of medical terminology.
* RSA Level 3 typing/word-processing or equivalent.
