This fantastic opportunity is for existing mental health professionals to complete their training as CBT therapists. The trainee CBT therapists will work within the NHS Lancashire & South Cumbria Talking Therapies service, providing CBT to people experiencing anxiety and depression.
The training will take place with the University of Cumbria and will be face-to-face at their campus in Lancaster.

Experience of working within a Talking Therapies service is desirable. All applicants should refer to the person specification for further requirements. Applicants with a registered core profession will be considered for shortlisting, along with those who are currently a PWP with two years post-qualification experience and a completed KSA portfolio, which must be submitted to the university by 30th September 2025 before a firm offer can be made. Please specify how you meet the core profession or KSA route in the additional information section and confirm that your KSA will be ready for submission by the deadline.
This is a training role within the Improving Access To Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT). The post-holder will work within the IAPT service, providing high-intensity interventions while undertaking training for this role. The intensive training will equip the post-holder to deliver CBT to clients with complex problems, with work scheduled for 3 days a week, and training on the remaining 2 days.
The post-holder will work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
