A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Engineer to join a well-known UK Electronics manufacturer in the Hailsham area! The role offers variety and the chance to work within an innovative industry with genuine long-term progression.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Understand, incorporate, and manage client requirements into company-wide data via Product Data Management (PDM), Bill of Materials (BoM), and drawing/information management.
* Perform basic modelling and assembly activities in Siemens NX CAD software to ensure pump designs and selections are correct.
* Support instrumentation specialists with order handling for motors and instrumentation for projects.
* Generate and configure BoMs for new orders, identify risks, understand gaps, and manage activities to ensure correct engineering of new products.
* Assist the business with engineering-related issues, support supply chain sourcing and manufacturing, and aid customer service in understanding product issues and development ideas.
* Ensure project targets are met, report issues, and use initiative to solve problems and support growth.
* Engage in business development and continuous improvement activities, including root-cause analysis and implementing preventive solutions.
* Model and assemble in Siemens NX, perform package checks, specify instrumentation and motors, and support documentation creation and revisions.
* Train channel partners and sales team on products, software, and features/engineered options.
* Act as a liaison between engineering and applications teams to improve communication and bring commercial and technical knowledge to both sides.
* Support project bids with technical and commercial proposals during busy periods.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Experience with PDM and BoM processes.
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, especially related to rotating equipment or pump systems.
* Proficient in Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD software.
* Familiarity with instrumentation and motors, including specification, documentation, and order handling.
* Ability to support cross-functional teams with technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
* Experience in generating BoMs and understanding their implications.
* Support for commercial teams with project bids and proposals.
* Strong analytical, root-cause analysis skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
* Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
