Job title: UX Researcher
Location: Manchester, UK
We are seeking an experienced UX Researcher with a strong expertise in the banking domain to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects.
Hybrid working is required. You will work from company offices, client sites, and home as needed, but not 100% from home.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the UX research team.
* Implement and manage research processes.
* Oversee workload, sprint planning, and ensure team works efficiently.
* Provide project roadmaps, timelines, and strategic insight.
* Design, conduct, analyze, and report on user‑centered design research and usability testing for bank channels.
* Mentor and develop UX researchers.
* Ensure delivery of research outputs and engage stakeholders.
* Focus on targets and outcomes.
* Own the SME Customer Research Panel recruitment, engagement, and controls.
* Lead moderated user testing and workshops.
* Promote user‑centered design principles and best practice across Digital SME and the bank.
* Conduct in‑house research to test new product and concept developments, including user requirements gathering and early‑stage concept and prototype testing.
* Maintain knowledge of and adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements.

* Statistical, qualitative, and quantitative analysis.
* Presentations (verbal and written).
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and oral.
* Excellent relationship skills; ability to operate with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and partners.
* Proven experience in mentorship and management.
* Effective time management of self and others, assessment of workload, and management of delivery expectations and deadlines.
* Ability to choose appropriate research methods and advise on their application to ensure best practice.
* High level of customer focus and understanding of customer needs.
* Experience in moderating usability tests across various formats.
* Participant recruiting and screener creation.
* Experience managing, executing, and analysing usability testing sessions.
* Experience working in an agile development environment with UX teams, designers, and developers to create new digital products and services.
* Demonstrable initiative and a passion for innovation and change.
* Attention to detail, passion for information architecture, usability, and accessibility.
* Ability to use strategic insight and align user research activities to inform decision‑making and action.
